The Coon Rapids City Council supported seeking grant funding for the construction of pickleball courts by its tennis court complex. The city’s park and recreation board approached the council during the June 2 meeting and provided an update on grants available that they would like to apply for to offset the costs of constructing two pickleball courts. The board is also considering redoing the surface of the current tennis court located close to the Coon Rapids Aquatic Center. The project right now is contingent on grant funding received and will be discussed in future meetings if funding is secured.
