Concerned Iowans Plan Third Protest For This Weekend In Carroll

A local group calling themselves “Concerned Iowans” will gather to protest for the third time in as many months this weekend in Carroll. Organizers say the event is being held in connection with No Kings Day, a nationwide day of protest with an emphasis on constitutional rights and opposition to government overreach. Participants will gather at the Carroll Public Library at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 14. At noon, they will march to the intersection of U.S. Highway 30 and Carroll Street, where the demonstration will take place. Organizers say the event is non-partisan and people of all backgrounds are welcome to participate as long as their “focus is on unity, civic awareness, and peaceful expression.” Previous events were held on April 5 and May 3 in Carroll. In addition to the roadside rally, attendees are encouraged to bring personal care items to the event, which will be collected and donated to New Opportunities.
