Nebraska Man Sentenced To Probation After Pleading Guilty To Attempted Vehicle Theft And Manning Break In

A Nebraska man was sentenced last week to three years probation after attempting to steal a car and breaking into a residence in Manning. According to Carroll County District Court records, 26-year-old Caleb Jaymz Douglas Thomson of Burt, Nebr. was actively trying to steal a BMW car and was caught by the owner back in October 2024. Thomson then showed aggression toward the victim and tried to enter the shop and house on the property following the victim. Thomson entered a guilty plea on one count second-degree burglary, a class C felony in February 2025. A prison sentence of ten years was suspended and Thomson was ordered to three years probation at a residential facility. The remaining charges of second-degree robbery, disorderly conduct and public intoxication have been dismissed.
