A Fort Dodge man has pled guilty to federal charges in connection with a methamphetamine distribution conspiracy in the region that spanned three years. Forty-two-year-old Aaron StandsAndLooksBack, also known as Aaron Woodman, entered his guilty plea on June 4 in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Iowa in Sioux City. He admitted to conspiring with others to distribute at least 1.5 kilograms of methamphetamine between December 2020 and December 2023. According to evidence presented at the plea hearing, StandsAndLooksBack obtained meth by purchasing and then redistributed it to others in the Fort Dodge area. Prosecutors also said he stole large quantities of methamphetamine from his mother to sell. StandsAndLooksBack remains in the custody of the U.S. Marshals Service pending sentencing. He faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 10 years in prison, with a maximum of life, along with a possible $10 million fine and at least five years of supervised release. The case is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Shawn S. Wehde and was investigated by the Iowa Division of Narcotics Enforcement, the Fort Dodge Iowa Police Department, the Webster County Sheriff’s Office, the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office, and the Iowa DCI Laboratory.
