Iowa Nutrient Research Center Releases 2024 Annual Review

The Iowa Nutrient Research Center (INRC) has released its 2024 Annual Review, highlighting the center’s ongoing efforts to advance water quality and nutrient reduction in the state. The report details the $1.31 million awarded to nine new research projects and showcases the contributions of student researchers through the spring seminar series, “Focus on the Future – Students and Their Contributions to Water Quality Research.” INRC Director Matt Helmers says, “The main purpose of the INRC is to advance the science of nutrient reduction through our research grants program. That INRC funding has also helped launch the scientific careers of numerous students who support projects on the ground. We look forward to watching their important contributions to this field for decades to come.” The four-page annual review also outlines outreach efforts, including workshops, stakeholder meetings, field days, and various communications initiatives, such as research and online seminar recordings.  Since its founding in 2013, INRC has supported 145 projects with nearly $17.6 million in state funds.
