Movement was mixed in this week’s fuel report from the Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship (IDALS) and AAA-Iowa. As of Wednesday, May 28, the average price for a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline was $2.95, two cents higher than last week but still 32 cents below prices from a year ago. The national average on Wednesday was down two cents from last week to $3.16 per gallon. In retail diesel, the Iowa average fell two cents to $3.32 per gallon, compared to $3.58 per gallon this time last year. Local prices remain 22 cents lower than the $3.54 national average. As for renewable fuels at the Des Moines Terminal, E10 was $1.98, Unleaded 87 was $2.32, ULSD#2 was $2.16, ULSD#1 was $2.41, and E70 came in at $1.97. Looking at heating fuels, natural gas prices at the Henry Hub reporting site rose 24 cents to $3.62 per MMBtu.
