The Carroll Fire Department was dispatched early this (Wednesday) morning in response to a reported fire at the 1730 Tap House at the Carrollton Inn. According to Fire Chief Dan Hannasch, crews were dispatched at approximately 5:40 a.m. after a caller reported the kitchen area was filled with smoke. Firefighters identified the source as a small bucket of rags that had ignited and quickly extinguished it. However, the department remained on scene for nearly an hour, working to clear smoke from the restaurant. No significant damage was reported following the call. The Carroll Police Department and Carroll County Communication Center also assisted in the response.
