No Violations Recorded In Carroll’s 2025 Consumer Confidence Report On Drinking Water Quality

The City of Carroll recently released its 2025 Consumer Confidence Report on Drinking Water Quality, which recorded no significant violations. The report is required by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to showcase water suppliers’ ongoing dedication to quality and transparency to the public. Carroll’s water is sourced from the Pleistocene and Dakota Sandstone aquifers. Before entering the city’s system, water pulled from the aquifers is treated using aeration and filtration to remove iron, manganese, and bacteria, and fluoridation is added for public health reasons to prevent tooth decay. The report shows total trihalomethanes of 41 parts per billion (ppb), haloacetic acids at 23 ppb, lead at 8.0 ppb, copper at 0.564 ppm, chlorine at 1.9 ppm, radium at 4.54 pCi/L, barium at 0.156 ppm, fluoride at 0.8 ppm, sodium at 13.7 ppm, and nitrates at 1.0 ppm. All these measurements fall below the maximum contaminant level allowed by the EPA. Mayor Jerry Fleshner says, “We believe that the best way to assure you that your drinking water is safe and dependable is to provide you with accurate information. This Consumer Confidence Report provides information about water quality and the water system. It also illustrates the extent of the testing performed on the water to assure that it is safe when it reaches your tap. I hope all residents will read this report and not hesitate to contact the water department with any questions.” The report is available for review in person at Carroll City Hall or online using the link included with this story on our website.
