Authorities in Carroll are investigating a recent spate of tire slashings reported throughout the community. According to Police Chief Brad Burke, officials have received at least seven reports of tires being slashed on 12 vehicles since April 15. He notes there are likely more examples, but they were not reported directly to law enforcement. Individuals who have been victims of this or similar vandalism are encouraged to report the incident directly to law enforcement rather than posting about it on social media, as these posts are unlikely to be seen by the authorities. Burke says an investigation into the recent crimes is ongoing, and residents are asked to report suspicious vehicles or people in their neighborhoods, as police cannot be present in all neighborhoods at all times. He also recommends residents utilize video security systems, such as doorbell cameras, and ensure they know how to access the video to assist in identifying the culprits if necessary.
