The City of Audubon is looking to see if there would be interested in a grant to provide demolition assistance to dilapidated structures. During the last city council meeting, members agreed that the city could provide financial assistance of up to $5,000 to tear down any hazardous houses and buildings in the community. Audubon Mayor, Palle Lansman has proposed to make the abandoned and run-down properties a priority to promote safety in the community. All debris from the structure will need to be properly disposed to remain in compliance with the City of Audubon rules and regulations. If approved, funds will be limited and provided on a first-come-first serve basis. If interested in the program, contact City Clerk Jenell Remsburg at 712-563-3269.
