Crawford County Included In Presidential Disaster Declaration For March 19 Storm Damage

Gov. Kim Reynolds announced Wednesday that President Donald Trump has approved a request for a Presidential Disaster Declaration for four western Iowa counties following severe weather on March 19. The declaration activates the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s (FEMA) Public Assistance Program for Crawford, Harrison, Monona, and Woodbury counties. The Public Assistance Program provides funding for repairing damaged public infrastructure, debris removal, and emergency protective measures such as sheltering, supplying essential needs, and transporting emergency supplies. The declaration comes in response to significant damage to public and private property caused by the March storms. State and local officials will work with FEMA to assess damages and coordinate recovery efforts in the affected areas.
