The City of Wall Lake is exploring options of improvements to Twilight Acres after receiving the results from a community study. Earlier this year, the city council approved of investing around $25,000 of Tax Increment Financing (TIF) dollars to be utilized for updates to the nursing facility as part of Iowa Code instructing a portion of TIF be used to provide services for low to moderate income (LMI) families. Wall Lake City Clerk, Chris Rodman, says everyone is pretty excited about the study results.
Rodman says the survey indicated there is an increase need of additional services to the community.
While still in the very preliminary stages, Rodman says the next steps are to discuss ideas with Twilight Acres Board of Directors, city council and to hire a planning company that will assist with starting to bring these opportunities to life.
Through TIF, the City of Wall Lake plans to continuously invest money into Twilight Acres, to further promote the future of the facility and services that are provided.
