A Panora man was seriously injured last week after crashing his motorcycle in Guthrie County. According to the Guthrie County Sheriff’s Office, the accident occurred at approximately 5 p.m. Wednesday, May 7, on Wagon Road, about four miles south of Panora. Authorities say 77-year-old Gerald Dean Christensen was riding his 1997 Honda GL1500 southbound on Wagon Road and failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway. Christensen left the roadway and collided with a cable barrier on the south side of the road. He was ejected from the motorcycle and landed in the south ditch, sustaining serious injuries. Panora Emergency Medical Services transported Christensen to Methodist Hospital in Des Moines for treatment.
