RWRA Places Boil Advisory On Southern Rural Audubon County, Including Cities Of Exira And Brayton

Pot-Boiling-Order-Advisory

Regional Water Rural Association (RWRA) in Avoca, who provides rural water services for southern Audubon County residents, including the Cities of Exira and Brayton, as issued a boil advisory until further notice. The RWRA system depressurized due to demand of water with low-levels due to drought and it is recommended to boil the water before consumption to remove any potential bacterial contamination. Customers in the affected area are being advised to boil water for at least one minute before using for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth or food preparation. Water is still safe to use for bathing and other general cleaning. Water could potentially be discolored once restored, but should only be temporary. The boil order will be in effect until further notice when samples have returned free of any bacteria. Those with further questions are asked to contact the RWRA Office at 712-343-2413.
