Volquartsen Up Against Allsteel In First Round Of ABI Coolest Thing Made In Iowa Contest; Voting Open Through May 14

The Iowa Association of Business and Industry (ABI) has opened the first round of head-to-head voting in the 2025 Coolest Thing Made in Iowa contest. The Black Mamba target pistol, produced by Volquartsen Firearms of Carroll, was seeded at #14 in the field of 16 products and is matched up against the #3 seed, Beyond Walls® of Allsteel in Muscatine. Voting is open now at www.coolestthingia.com, and a link directly to the ballot page is included with this story on our website. ABI President Nicole Crain says, “The level of engagement in this year’s contest has been outstanding. We’re proud to shine a light on the products being made in Iowa and the manufacturers behind them.” The first round of bracket voting closes Wednesday, May 14, with the top eight products to be announced Thursday, May 15. The second round of bracket voting runs from May 16 to May 21, with the top four to be announced on May 22. The final round of voting is May 23 through June 3, and the winner will be announced on June 11 at the ABI Taking Care of Business annual conference.
