The Black Mamba 22 LR pistol, produced by Volquartsen Firearms of Carroll, has advanced to the top 16 in the Iowa Association of Business and Industry’s (ABI) 2025 Coolest Thing Made in Iowa contest. More than 26,000 votes were cast in the field, featuring dozens of nominated products from across the state. The Black Mamba is a top-of-its-class target pistol chambered in .22 Long Rifle used by competitive shooters and enthusiasts worldwide. Volquartsen will now compete against the other 15 products to advance in a head-to-head, bracket-style vote that begins tomorrow (Friday).
