Iowans again saw price declines at the pump over the past week, according to the latest fuel report from the Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship (IDALS) and AAA-Iowa. As of Wednesday, May 7, the average price for a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline across the state was $2.92, five cents below last week and down 36 cents from a year ago. The national average for gas on Wednesday was $3.15. As for diesel, Iowa prices averaged $3.29 per gallon, also down five cents on the week and 41 cents below prices from last year. The national average for diesel on Wednesday was $3.54 per gallon. In renewable fuels at the Des Moines Terminal, E10 was $1.96, Unleaded 87 was $2.54, ULSD#2 was $2.16, ULSD#1 was $2.40, and E70 came in at $1.92. As for the heating fuel market, natural gas prices at the Henry Hub reporting site jumped 32 cents to $3.64 per MMBtu.
