A substantial road reconstruction project in Brayton will limit access through the summer and is set to get underway next week. According to the Audubon County Road Department, crews will close County Road F65, also known as 320th Street, in the community to strip the existing pavement and replace the surface with a new layer. Construction is expected to last approximately 12 weeks, with a weather-dependent projected end date of Aug. 8. The construction may impact access to homes in the project area at times, but contractors will work with residents to minimize disruptions. Traffic on nearby U.S. Highway 71 should not be impacted by the construction.
