Sac County Sheriff Ken McClure Announces Retirement

Sac County Sheriff Ken McClure has announced his retirement, effective June 26, after 37 years in law enforcement. In a letter to residents, McClure expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve and pride in his office’s steadfast dedication to Sac County during his tenure. McClure writes, “Throughout these years, I have witnessed firsthand the strength, resilience, and generosity of the people of Sac County. Your unwavering support of the Sac County Sheriff’s Office has been the foundation of everything we’ve accomplished. For that, I offer my deepest thanks.” In his letter, McClure pledged to assist with a smooth leadership transition to ensure continued high standards of service and integrity. He also highlighted what he sees as one of Sac County’s most pressing issues: replacing the nearly 90-year-old jail facility. He urges the community to work together to address the need for a safe and modern facility. Although he’ll be stepping away at the end of next month, McClure remains committed to Sac County’s future and will continue supporting the sheriff’s office. He says, “Thank you again for the trust and support you’ve shown me over the years. It has truly been an honor to serve you.”
