Sac County Conservation is hosting a Raccoon River Clean up this upcoming Saturday, before the weather warms up and recreationist take to the river and to keep it healthy for the animals. Sac County Conservation Naturalist, Dakota Popp, is encouraging volunteers to join her from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. in sections along the North Racoon River, while exploring and discovering plants and animals that live there. Volunteers are asked to wear old tennis shoes or water shoes, as there will be the option to float or walk up the section of the river while cleaning. Registration is encouraged to ensure enough supplies in brought. An exact location of where to meet to clean up will be announced later this week, closer to Saturday.
