The Carroll Community School District (CCSD) Board of Education held a work session Monday evening with a dozen teachers to discuss the board’s policy on student conduct and how to best support teachers throughout the district. The meeting was held at 4:30 p.m. and at the Carroll Middle School Media Center to better accommodate schedules for teachers who wished to join. The meeting opened with a personnel report and more donations for Teacher Appreciation Week this week. The Tiger Elementary Parent Club is donating coffee, pastries, trail mix, chair massages, cookies and a lunch to all Fairview and Adams Elementary teachers. Carroll Middle School will be having lunch provided throughout the week thanks to donations from Steve and Abby Gute, Haley Implement, Brinks Exteriors, Tigges Overhead Doors, Kitt Plumbing and Heating, Katie and Ryan Kock, Ken and Angie Schmitt, and Brandi Vaughan. A food truck donation for Carroll High School (CHS) teachers from Jordan Janson at Edward Jones was also approved, with the rest of the CHS donations being approved at the April 21 board meeting. The rest of the work session was on Board Policy 536- Student Code of Conduct. While no action was taken over the policy, there was discussion on the language, whether teachers felt supported by the board when it came to the policy and more. Carroll Broadcasting will bring you more from the CCSD Board of Education’s Work Session regarding Policy 536 in upcoming newscasts.
