Whiterock Conservancy will kick off its 2025 Slow Sunday Drive series next weekend, offering participants a scenic 2- to 3-hour guided ride through the conservancy’s trails. The event will begin at 1 p.m. on Sunday, May 11, from the Historic Garst Farmhouse, located at 1390 Highway 141 in Coon Rapids. Participants must arrive early to register, show proof of insurance and a valid driver’s license, and pay the $30 per vehicle fee in cash. Parking for trailers will be available in the overflow lot of the Bur Oak Visitors Center east of town on Highway 141. Organizers urge participants to monitor the Whiterock Conservancy website and event page for possible weather-related updates. If trails are too wet, the event will be cancelled or rescheduled. Private ATVs are only allowed on Whiterock land during Slow Sunday Drives and are not permitted outside of the event.
