A Carroll man has been sentenced to serve five years in prison after finishing a previous sentence for eluding law enforcement while on parole. According to Carroll County District Court records, on December 24 of last year, 30-year-old Tyler Scott Mattingly failed to stop for a Carroll County Sheriff’s Deputy and continued north on Zephyr Avenue reaching speeds of 120 miles per hour. Mattingly vehicle came to a rest in Calhoun County, and a Sac County Sheriff K-9 alerted on the vehicle, where baggies, a scale and a cup with a crystalline substance was discovered, along with marijuana. Mattingly has entered a plea agreement with prosecutors, pleading guilty to one count of eluding 25 mph or over, a class D felony. He has been ordered to serve an indeterminate term to not exceed five years, with credit for time served. He was on parole at the time of the incident for felony charge of first-degree theft out of Greene County and was sentenced in 2021 to ten years in prison. Both prison terms will be served consecutively.
