A Carroll man taken into custody for being in possession of methamphetamine in the Carroll County Jail. According to Carroll County District Court records, 32-year-old Joel Rodriguez was arrested in Nov. 2024 for violating a no contact order. While being booked in, a small bag of a crystalline substance was found on the defendant. Rodriguez admitted to it being methamphetamine. Rodriguez was taken into custody on Feb. 27, and is currently facing charges of introducing intoxicant or drugs into an institution, a class D felony. He has been released from the Carroll County Jail and is scheduled to appear for a preliminary hearing on March 13. If convicted, Rodriguez can face a maximum sentence of up to five years in prison and $7,500 in fines.
