Memorial Day services will be held at thousands of cemeteries throughout the country on Monday, and the Carroll City Cemetery is no exception. Carroll American Legion Member RT Schreck says they’ll begin their ceremonies with a parade along 1st Street.
Once everyone arrives from the parade, they’ll host the Memorial Day presenters and speakers near the Veterans Memorial on the north side of the cemetery.
After the ceremonies conclude, the public is invited to an open house at the Carroll American Legion on Heires Avenue.
Schreck says he understands Memorial Day marks a long weekend and unofficial kick off to summer for most people, but he asks Americans take at least a moment on Monday to reflect on the holiday’s significance.
