A Lineville woman could face charges after leaving the scene of a pedestrian accident Monday afternoon in Carroll. According to the Carroll Police Department, 29-year-old Jessica Pounds of Lineville, a small community on the central Iowa border with Missouri, was traveling eastbound on U.S. Highway 30 in a 1995 Pontiac Grand Prix at approximately 2:42 p.m. when she turned north onto Grant Road and struck 41-year-old Joey Schmitz of Carroll, who was in the crosswalk. Authorities say Pounds left the scene and was followed by a witness to report her location. Schmitz sustained only minor injuries that did not require medical attention. Charges are pending the completion of the Carroll Police Department’s investigation into the incident.
