Central Church of Carroll is hosting an open workshop tomorrow (Saturday) morning for families interested in learning more about balancing technology and screens in our day-to-day lives. The church has contracted with ScreenStrong to lead the presentation. Associate Pastor Gary Magill says they are a national organization that uses science to help parents, teens, and children use their screens wisely.
Doors open at 8:30 a.m. at Central Church on Highway 30, east of Carroll. The program runs from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Magill says ScreenStrong isn’t necessarily opposed to phones and technology. Rather, they make it clear what happens when people use phones and social media too much.
Magill adds there has been plenty of discussion on technology’s impact on children and their development, but he says adults aren’t immune to their phone’s effects
Saturday’s program is free and open to the public, as Central Church has covered the cost of having ScreenStrong come to present. Again, doors open at 8:30 a.m., with the workshop beginning at 9 a.m. Learn more about ScreenStrong using the link included with this story on our website.
