The Carroll Community School District will have a public hearing on Monday evening for the proposed property tax rate for fiscal year 2025, and a shorter agenda for the regular scheduled meeting to follow. The district’s proposed property tax rate has decreased from the current 9.88719 per $1000 of assessed taxable valuation to $9.88355, but the revenue from the tax levy will increase to a total of $11,003,892, due to increases in property valuations, and to increase funding in the management fund levy to plan for a rise in property and liability insurance premiums. After the public hearing the board will hear personnel reports and to consider approval of job description revisions that were discussed in previous meetings. The district is also considering a contract turn in bonus for teachers and staff who turn in their contracts for next school year within a certain timeframe. The board will review the proposed bonus, the total money that will be spent and consider approval. The board members will enter a work session, where they will hear a presentation for the certified budget for FY25 and discuss having a student representative attend school board meetings to allow input from student’s perspectives of needs. The meeting will conclude with correspondence and announcements from the district and discuss contract negotiations. The public hearing is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. on Monday at Adams Elementary School, with the board meeting to follow and are open to the public.
