Jane Eischeid of Halbur

Jane Eischeid, 78 of Halbur, died Wednesday, March 27, 2024 at MercyOne Des Moines Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa.

Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 3 p.m., Friday, April 5, 2024 at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Halbur.  The Celebrant will be Fr. Terry Roder.  Music will be by Julie Sibbel and the St. Augustine Choir.  Lector will be Tom Espenhover. Gift Bearers will be Shawna Marin, Brandi Eischeid, Trent Eischeid, and Dakota Dosch.  Eucharistic Casket Bearers will be Joe Espenhover, Tom Espenhover, Paul Espenhover, Jerry Espenhover, Duane Espenhover, and Dave Ramsey. Private family burial will be in St. Augustine Cemetery in Halbur at the later date.

Visitation will be from 1-2:45 p.m. on Friday at the church, prior to the Funeral Mass.

Jane was born on March 15, 1946, the daughter of Joseph and Helen (Turner) Espenhover.  She attended school in Manning.  On March 15, 1969, Jane was united in marriage to Donald Eischeid at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Manning, Iowa.  The couple made their home in Halbur where they raised their two boys.

Jane enjoyed living in Halbur, taking her dog for walks and visiting with her neighbors. She loved hosting family and friends at her home; especially on Sundays following mass. Jane loved and took great pride in spoiling her grandchildren along with her many nieces and nephews. She enjoyed her trips to the casino and fishing. Before retiring, Jane cleaned homes and babysat area families. Jane was a member of St. Augustine Church in Halbur.

Left to celebrate her life is her son Brad Eischeid and wife Jessica of Carroll; her grandchildren: Shawna (Salomon) Marin and their son Salomon, Brandi Eischeid (significant other Alex), Trent Eischeid, Dakota Dosch and her son Cameron; her siblings: Judy Hinners of Carroll, Duane (June) Espenhover of Nebraska, David (Maxine) Espenhover of Nebraska, Shirley (Kenny) Vogl of Carroll, Helen Hinners of Manning, Joe Jr. (Jane) Espenhover of Carroll, Carol (Dave) Ramsey of Templeton, Cindy (Scott) Heinrichs of Maple River, Tom Espenhover of Carroll, Jerry Espenhover of Carroll and Paul (Cindy) Espenhover of Carroll; her sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Shirley Eischeid of Kansas, Gene (Donna) Eischeid of Pennsylvania, Geri (Barney) Draves of Halbur, DeAnn Eischeid of Halbur and Diane Eischeid of Des Moines; as well as many nieces, nephews, and other extended relatives.

Jane was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Donald Eischeid; her son, Brett Eischeid; her siblings, Debra Espenhover, Mary Espenhover, Gerald Espenhover, Eugene Espenhover, and Steve Espenhover; her brothers-in-law: Arden Hinners, Richard Hinners, Vernon Eischeid, Thomas Eischeid and Randy Eischeid; her sister-in-law, Diane (Dwayne) Brant.
