The City of Jefferson was awarded with the 2024 Iowa Tourism Award for “Outstanding Community” yesterday (Wednesday) during the Iowa Tourism Awards Banquet. This award is given out to honor a community that works in collaboration with businesses, organizations, and community members to offer a welcome to visitors traveling to the town. The city of Jefferson was nominated for the community’s work to support and grow tourism, showing originality and creativity and developing innovated ideas to attract tourism markets. This is the second consecutive year Jefferson has won an award through Iowa Tourism, with the previous award going to Jefferson Matters: A Main Street & Chamber Community for “Outstanding Website”.
