Audubon County has been placed in a burn ban effective at 6 p.m. tonight (Wednesday) until further notice. Due to the dry conditions, with little to no precipitation forecasted and extreme winds make it favorable for fires to spread quickly. These conditions make open burning extremely dangerous to life and to property. The ban will be in effect until outdoor conditions improve. Those in violation of this ban will be charged with a simple misdemeanor.
