Iowa Fuel Report: Dec. 13, 2023

Fuel prices remained on the decline in this week’s fuel report from the Iowa Department of Agriculture and AAA-Iowa. As of Wednesday, Dec. 13, the average price for a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline in the state was $2.82, down five cents from last week and nine cents below prices from a year ago. The national average for gasoline was $3.12 per gallon, down from $3.22 the prior week. Retail diesel prices in Iowa fell 12 cents to $3.85 per gallon, compared to $4.51 per gallon last year. The national average for diesel on Wednesday was $4.08 per gallon. Wholesale ethanol was unchanged from $2.16 per gallon. In heating fuels, propane prices dropped one cent to $1.55 per gallon, home heating oil fell 19 cents to $3.13 per gallon, and natural gas prices at the Henry Hub reporting site plunged 33 cents to $2.43 per MMBtu.
