Iowa Fuel Report: Nov. 29, 2023

Fuel prices continued their downward trend following the Thanksgiving holiday weekend, according to the Iowa Department of Agriculture and AAA-Iowa. As of Wednesday, Nov. 30, the price of regular unleaded gasoline averaged $2.91 per gallon across the state, a six-cent drop from last week and down 33 cents from a year ago. On Wednesday, the national average for gasoline was down five cents to $3.25 per gallon. Retail diesel in Iowa averages $4.07 per gallon, down 10 cents on the week and 81 cents below last year’s prices. The national average for diesel slid 16 cents to $4.23 per gallon. Wholesale ethanol was unchanged at $2.16 per gallon. In heating fuels, propane prices increased one cent to $1.55 per gallon, home heating oil prices rose four cents to $3.51 per gallon, and natural gas prices at the Henry Hub reporting site fell seven cents to $2.82 per MMBtu.
