It is time to catch an extra hour of sleep this weekend as Daylight Saving Time (DST) ends. On Sunday, Nov. 5, at 2 a.m., clocks will “fall back” to 1 a.m., giving us the odd 25-hour day and pushing sunrise and sunset times earlier. This shift in time may have various effects, including potential changes to sleep patterns and routines. Be sure to reset your analog and digital clocks, including those on appliances, watches, and vehicles. Most smartphones and computers will adjust automatically but double-check to be certain. While traversing your home to change clocks, be sure also to check fire alarms and carbon monoxide detector batteries. Daylight Savings Time returns on Sunday, March 10, 2024.
