Area residents are invited to join a free virtual film screening tonight (Tuesday) on the prevalence of sex trafficking in Iowa. Stacy Besch of Team Iowa has diligently raised awareness of this hidden but widespread crisis by sharing “Gridshock: A Documentary about Sex Trafficking in Iowa.” The film examines the demand for sex trafficking in surprising places. It features interviews with victims, law enforcement, advocates, and more. The film will air via Zoom Video Conferencing tonight at 7 p.m. Following the hour-long showing, Besch will share some recent incidences of sex trafficking and provide tips for what you can do to stop its proliferation. Again, the showing begins at 7 p.m. this (Tuesday) evening, and details on how to access the program are included below.
