A Carroll convenience store recently sold a $10,000 Iowa Lottery scratch ticket, but that prize did not go to any local residents. Paula Lozano Mendoza of Omaha, Neb. claimed the 10th prize from the “$100,000 Mega Crossword” game on Monday at the lottery headquarters in Clive. Mendoza purchased her winning ticket from the Kimmes Country Store on U.S. Highway 71 in Carroll. The $100,000 Mega Crossword game is a $10 scratch ticket that features 46 top prizes of $100,000, 92 prizes of $10,000, and overall odds of one in 3.29.
