Iowa Fuel Report: June 29, 2023

Fuel prices in Iowa are holding steady heading into the Fourth of July holiday, according to the latest report from the Iowa Department of Agriculture and AAA-Iowa. As of Thursday, June 29, the average price for a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline was $3.38, unchanged from last week. Prices remain $1.24 per gallon lower than a year ago. The national average on Thursday was down three cents to $3.55 per gallon. Retail diesel prices in Iowa dropped two cents to an average price of $3.63 per gallon, compared to $5.42 this time last year. Local prices remain 25 cents below the national average of $3.87 per gallon. Wholesale ethanol held steady at $2.16, while natural gas prices at the Henry Hub reporting site climbed seven cents to $2.65 per MMBtu.
