Dolora Brincks, age 93, of Carroll, died Friday, June 2, 2023 at St. Anthony Nursing Home in Carroll.
Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 7, 2023 at St. Lawrence Church- St. John Paul II Parish in Carroll. The celebrant will be Fr. Timothy Schott. Music will be by Kathy Halbur. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Carroll.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 5-7p.m. at the Sharp Funeral Home in Carroll. A rosary and a time of sharing will be held at 7p.m. The casket will be moved to St. Lawrence Church on Wednesday morning where visitation will resume from 9:30 a.m. to 10:15 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be left for St. John Paul II Parish or Kuemper Catholic Schools.

Dolora, the daughter of Albert “Pat” and Julia (Nieland) Poeppe was born on July 13, 1929, in Mt. Carmel, Iowa. She grew up near Mt. Carmel and attended school at Holy Family in Lidderdale. After her formal education the family moved near Emmetsburg, Iowa to pursue a farming operation. Dolora would later complete her G.E.D., a feat that was respected by her family and friends.
On September 13, 1949, Dolora was united in marriage to Delbert Brincks at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Emmetsburg. The couple made their home in Carroll where Dolora was a devoted homemaker. Dolora lived by “Somebody had to make it, why can’t I?” some of her many works included: Memory books for the grandchildren and her brothers and sisters, and children, farm buildings for boy’s farm sets, sewed many clothing garments, decorated cakes, reupholstered furniture, and refinished the woodwork in their house.
She also gave of her time outside of the home volunteering as a Girl Scout leader, St. Lawrence Library where she covered all the paperback books, cleaning St. Lawrence Church, organized the Red Cross Blood Mobile, Eucharistic Minister, and distributed Communion to the homebound, money counter at St. Lawrence, and a Prayer Affiliate of the Franciscan Sisters of Perpetual Adoration.
Dolora is survived by her children: Dorothy (Gary) Geister of Carroll, Dean (Barb) Brincks of Lodi, WI, Darwin (Jennifer) Brincks of Carroll, and Donna (Murray) Monson of Boone; grandchildren: Tonja Geister, Heath Geister, Holly (Aaron) Myrtue, Paige (Fiancé Luke Eischeid) Geister, Kristine (Brandon) Herbert, Lisa Brincks, Joe (Angie) Brincks, Alex (Emmy) Brincks, Rachel (Dakota) Werkmeister, Dr. Nathan (Kathy) Monson, and Lucas Monson; great-grandchildren: Lewis, Olivia, Remmington, Emery, Ellis, Hanalei, Gabriel, with one more on the way. Siblings: Phyllis Lindsey of Laurens, Pat (Howard) Metzger of Estherville, and Zeline (Joe) Gappa of Emmetsburg; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Ken Dobbins of Omaha, Ruth Poeppe of Emmetsburg, Bea Poeppe of Emmetsburg, Melvin Brincks of Roselle, LeRoy Brincks of Carroll, Bernice (LaVern) Halbur of Missouri, and Rosie (Charles) Martin of Waucoma; as well as many nieces, nephews, and other extended relatives.
Dolora was preceded in death by her parents, husband Delbert in 2009; siblings: Sr. Anita Poeppe FSPA, Wayne (Alvina) Peoppe, Fern Dobbins, Ken Peoppe, Dale Peoppe, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Marlene Brincks, Darlene Brincks, Mary Ann (Orville) Schlichte, and Irwin Brincks.
