Gov Reynold Orders All Flags In Iowa To Half Staff On Monday For Memorial Day

Gov. Kim Reynolds has ordered flags in Iowa to half-staff from sunrise to noon on Monday, May 29th, in honor of Memorial Day. Gov. Reynolds says, “Memorial Day serves as an opportunity to honor and remember the patriots who gave their lives protecting the privileges and freedoms, we as a county hold dear. The debt we owe our nation’s veterans and active service members is not repaid in one day. Every day we must live up to the promise and values of the country they fought for.” Flags will be at half-staff on the State Capital Building, and flag displays on the Capital Complex. Flags will also be at half-staff on all public buildings, grounds, and facilities throughout the state. Individuals, businesses, schools, municipalities, counties, and other government subdivisions are encouraged to fly flags at half-staff for the same length of time as a sign of respect.
