Glidden City Officials Still Looking For Volunteers During RAGBRAI Later This Summer

RAGBRAI is just under two months away, and communities in the Carroll Broadcasting listening area are starting to pick up the preparation for when riders pass through their respective towns. According to Glidden City Administrator Brooke Peterson, their focus is having food vendors lined up in the morning when riders leave Carroll.

Peterson says that entertainment-wise, they are scaling back from what other communities are planning.

Peterson says she is working on the Glidden RAGBRAI Facebook page, and that is the best place for people to stay updated on details related to community plans and events. Peterson says individuals or organizations wanting to be vendors must have their permits returned by Friday. She adds they are also still looking for volunteers.

Peterson says individuals interested in volunteering can contact Glidden City Hall at 712-659-3010 or attend the next planning meeting on Tuesday, May 30. This year marks the 50th anniversary of the historic bike ride. Riders will make their way through Glidden on Tuesday, July 25, as they head to Ames for an overnight stop.
