At Monday’s Lake View City Council meeting, officials appointed an interim Administrator. Josh Gibson started his temporary duties today (Thursday) and will officially take over when current City Administrator Scott Peterson leaves for the same job in Jefferson. Peterson says the city is very fortunate to have a well-qualified individual to fill the interim role.
Gibson currently resides in Lake View. Peterson says with Gibson’s work in the Public Works Department in Waukee, he is more than qualified for the job. Peterson adds the City Administrator position was posted to the public earlier this week.
Peterson says Gibson was chosen as the interim because the city officials wanted someone committed to the community during the transition process.
Peterson’s last day as the Lake View City Administrator is June 2; however, he does not officially start his role at Jefferson City Hall until June 15. Peterson’s departure from Lake View is not unexpected, as he was also a finalist in the City of Carroll’s search for a city manager earlier in the year.
