CCSD Board Of Education Looking At Safety Improvements At Carroll Middle School

Carroll Community School District (CCSD) is in the middle of district-wide security improvements. At Monday’s board of education meeting, officials approved the purchase of new cameras at one of the attendance centers. According to Superintendent Dr. Casey Berlau, they were very specific on what the district needs in terms of cameras, and that led to them only receiving one bid from ByteSpeed LLC out of Moorhead, MN. This project would replace all of Carroll Middle School’s interior and exterior cameras. The total cost of the project is estimated at $123,413. The cameras are expected to be installed during the summer. Berlau says the board will submit this project to be a part of a safety grant the school received in April from the state. The grant awards up to $50,000 per attendance center in the district. At Monday’s meeting, school officials did not indicate how the rest of the project would be paid for.
