At last week’s Lake View City Council meeting, officials set a resolution affirming their financial commitment to the Lake View Community Center Project. According to City Administrator Scott Peterson, at a March meeting, a large crowd gathered to voice their support for the community center after officials were considering using the tax increment financing (TIF) money set aside for the building for a water main project. On Monday, the council approved a resolution affirming that the $500,000 contribution to the center would be available when the project starts. The community center is also being funded through the Water Quality Initiative Program, Sac County Endowment Foundation, Black Haw Lake Protective Association, and donations from private individuals and organizations. Site preparation is expected to start this year in late spring or early summer.
