Call For Volunteers Continues As Countdown To Carroll RAGBRAI Closes On 100 Days

The countdown for when thousands of riders visit Carroll on the 2023 RAGBRAI route is just over 100 days, and local organizers are continuing to put out the call for volunteers willing to help in the planning, execution, and cleanup of the July 24 festivities. As of this week, more than 20,000 people had already registered for the ride, and those numbers are expected to grow in the months ahead. Volunteer Coordinator Katie Kruse says the amount of work required to prepare is staggering.

Registering to volunteer is as simple as checking out the Carroll RAGBRAI Facebook page or contacting the Carroll Chamber of Commerce office by calling 712-792-4383. Ashley Schable, who is also a member of the RAGBRAI Committee, says they are searching for more than volunteers. They are also in need of donations to help decorate the community for the “Carroll: You’ll Have a Barrel of Fun” theme.

There will be lots of information coming out about RAGBRAI over the next 100 days, and they are working on a new website where everything will be easily accessible. It is not quite ready to go live, but Schable says it should be happening soon.

Keep an eye on the Carroll RAGBRAI Facebook page for when that website is activated. RAGBRAI is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year. It runs from July 22 in Sioux City through July 29 in Davenport, with overnight stops in Storm Lake, Carroll, Ames, Des Moines, Tama-Toledo, and Coralville.
