As severe weather season is now underway, the demand for trained storm spotters is increasing. To help meet this need, the National Weather Service (NWS) Des Moines Office is organizing a seminar tonight (Thursday) from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Exira Event Center. This program is geared toward individuals who are interested in helping identify dangerous weather events safely when storms pass through the area. Tonight’s seminar, hosted by Audubon County Emergency Management, is free and open to the public. It is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable knowledge about severe weather and how to stay safe when severe weather strikes.
