St. Anthony Regional Hospital has announced a new Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, Christie Burnell, is joining the hospital’s mental health services department. Burnell earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Iowa State University and her bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of Texas Medical Branch before earning an advanced practice psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner degree from Walden University in Minneapolis, Minn. Burnell, PMHNP-BC, says, “The goal of my practice is to build positive relationships with skillful treatment, and I’m excited to do that here at St. Anthony.” Burnell will see and evaluate patients for mental health diagnoses and assist in managing various conditions through positive therapeutic techniques.
