A Carroll man has been arrested for driving while intoxicated after crashing into an apartment building Friday night. According to the Carroll Police Department, officers responded to the scene of the accident in the 1800 block of N. Grant Road at approximately 8:22 p.m. Their investigation found a 2004 Ford F150, driven by 41-year-old John Findlay of Carroll, was parked outside of the Camden Apartments. Findlay mistakenly believed the truck was in park and pressed the accelerator, jumping the curb and colliding with the building. Authorities say Findley then backed the truck into a 2014 Dodge Charger, severely damaging the stationary vehicle. Damage to the building is estimated at $10,000. Test results showed Findley’s blood alcohol content (BAC) was 0.171 percent when the sample was taken, and he was arrested for first-offense operating while intoxicated, a serious misdemeanor.
