Each year, the Carroll Chamber of Commerce recognizes a business that has demonstrated a longstanding commitment to the community and its residents with the Heritage Business Award, and Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home has been named the 2022 recipient. The initial home was first built in 1892 and became a funeral home in 1932. It changed hands several times before being purchased in 1965 by business partners, Bob Woodhouse and Merle Dahn, and has been operated by the Woodhouse family since 1978. Kim Tiefenthaler, owner of Performance Tire and Service in Carroll, says the Woodhouse family has always served grieving families from the area with the utmost respect and dignity.

Other award recipients from the Carroll Chamber of Commerce’s annual banquet include: Citizen of the Year, Matt Greteman; New Business, Journey Senior Services; Humanitarian, Pat and Alie Tigges; and two Public Service Awards, Rod Roberts and Sharon Olerich.
