CCSD Hosts Final Meeting Of 2022 Calendar Year Monday

The Carroll Community School District (CCSD) Board of Education will host its final meeting of 2022 on Monday. School officials convene at 5:30 p.m. at Adams Elementary. The first item of business is for board members to consider the latest recommendations from the Reconsideration Committee concerning questioned books found in the high school library.

Following Monday’s vote, the board will have seven more books to review of the 10 listed by parents concerned with the materials’ perceived graphic content. District officials will then open a public hearing on proposed improvements to the air conditioning systems at Fairview Elementary and Carroll Middle School.

The engineer’s initial estimate was around $450,000, but early indications are that the bids received were higher than expected. The board will consider bids for the project following the public hearing. Berlau notes the only other items on Monday’s agenda should be quick updates under the Administrative Reports, beginning with the district’s safety protocols.

Berlau says they will also review this year’s request for At-Risk/Dropout Prevention funding from the state.

Again, the Monday, Dec. 19 meeting begins at 5:30 p.m. at the Adams Elementary School boardroom and is open to the public. The agenda and details on how to attend remotely can be found included with this story on our website.
