A Storm Lake man faces felony charges related to allegations of an attempted sexual assault near the end of November. According to the Storm Lake Police Department, 62-year-old David Vidal Sanchez was taken into custody on Friday on one count of assault with intent to commit sexual abuse causing bodily injury, a class D felony, and domestic abuse assault causing bodily injury, a serious misdemeanor. The charges stem from a belated report of a Nov. 28 incident. Authorities say Vidal Sanchez attacked the victim at a home in Storm Lake by holding the victim down and attempting sexual contact against their will. The Iowa Department of Human Services and the Storm Lake Police Department Sexual Assault Response Team assisted in the investigation. As of Tuesday morning, Vidal Sanchez had been released from custody pending future court appearances.
